1 Use Exercise for "Healthy Release"
Working out is an emotional release for Halle. "Kicking, punching and pushing myself to my limits has always been a great, healthy release. Like men, women have a lot of pent-up anger and angst and sadness. I needed a healthy way to get this stuff out of my body. Sweating and working out is fuel for me. I'm also addicted to those feel-good endorphins. Sometimes, you've got to hit some s—!" she told AARP in a recent interview.
Halle embraces the aging process and focuses on the beautiful changes of getting older. "We're all going to get older. Our skin is going to shrivel up and we're going to look different. I see things changing with my face and body, but I've never put all my eggs in that basket," she told AARP. "I've always known that beauty is deeper than the physical body you're walking around in. That's going to fade, and I refuse to become someone who just tries to hold onto a youthful face and not embrace what's most important about being beautiful — how you live your life, how you give back to others, how you connect to people, how you strengthen your mind, body and soul and nourish yourself, how you give in a meaningful way of yourself. The most beautiful people have something radiating inside," she continued. "Women are told that when we reach a certain number, we're no longer valuable. I believe the opposite. Society should look at us as jewels as we get older. Because the older women get, the more formidable we are."
If you want a body like Halle, you are going to have to work out for it – almost every day. The star works out six days a week with trainer Peter Lee Thomas, giving her body a rest on Sunday. Their workouts involve sets of weighted lunges, stairs with weights, squats, and plyometrics like jumps with weighted balls, sprawls, and Turkish get-ups. She also does situps and crunches while hanging upside down. "Only something severe even puts a dent in my abs. I've had two children, so the skin is just looser there. So, I have to fill that area with muscle," she told Women's Health .
Halle's diet is extremely healthy and disciplined. She starts the day with a mix of Bulletproof coffee, almond milk, ghee, protein powder, and collagen. For lunch, which she will eat around 2 p.m. because she does intermittent fasting, she'll eat a lamb chop or rib eye with brussels sprouts, green beans, spinach, beets, or homemade cauliflower rice. For dinner, which she eats before 6, she will eat a salad with protein.
Halle is all about self-care. She does yoga, takes baths, gets massages and also relies on regular acupuncture sessions, which help her concentrate and regulate her "out-of-whack hormones." " Men may think of massage as an occasional treat or a vacation indulgence, but this type of therapy could be a natural way to stay healthy and pain-free," says Harvard Health. "One of the most common health issues for older men is chronic pain, defined as pain that lasts more than 12 weeks. This includes back pain, headache, cancer pain, and arthritis pain. Then there are the everyday aches from daily living. All of these act as barriers to a healthy lifestyle."df44d9eab23ea271ddde7545ae2c09ec
